OUR STORY

Built on Experience. Driven by Passion. Inspired by Family.

McLean & Sons Jewellers was founded with a simple vision: to combine traditional craftsmanship, specialist expertise and a genuine passion for jewellery into a business built on quality, trust and personal service.

With over 14 years of experience in the jewellery industry, founder Ben McLean has dedicated his career to mastering the art of goldsmithing, jewellery repairs and precision diamond and gemstone setting.

What began as a career learning the traditional skills of the trade developed into a lifelong passion for creating, restoring and transforming jewellery.

After years of working behind the scenes in the jewellery industry, Ben decided it was time to take the next step and establish a workshop of his own, where every piece of jewellery could receive the care, attention and craftsmanship it deserves.

THE BEGINNING OF MCLEAN & SONS JEWELLERS

After years of working for others, Ben made the decision in 2026 to leave his established career and pursue his ambition of opening his own jewellery workshop.

McLean & Sons Jewellers was created to offer something personal: a place where customers can speak directly with the craftsman carrying out their work, whether it's a simple repair, a treasured family heirloom or a completely bespoke piece of jewellery.

Operating from our specialist workshop in Airdrie, Scotland, we combine traditional goldsmithing skills with modern technology, including precision laser welding and specialist stone-setting equipment.

From the initial consultation to the final polish, every piece is approached with the same commitment to quality, honesty and attention to detail.

We take pride in offering a service where craftsmanship comes first and where no job is considered too small to deserve our full attention.

THE MEANING BEHIND MCLEAN & SONS

The name McLean & Sons Jewellers holds a meaning that goes far beyond jewellery.

As a proud father of two boys, Ben wanted to create a business that represented not only his passion for the trade but also his hopes for the future.

The “& Sons” is a reflection of that ambition.

One day, he hopes his sons might choose to follow in his footsteps, learn the skills of traditional goldsmithing and become part of the business their father started.

In an industry where traditional craftsmanship is increasingly valuable, passing down these skills to the next generation is something particularly close to his heart.

There is no expectation that his boys will follow the same path, but the opportunity will always be there should they wish to.

McLean & Sons isn't simply a name. It's the beginning of something Ben hopes will last for generations — a family business built on craftsmanship, pride and a passion for keeping the jewellery trade alive.
